Program Rules

• Referrals must be submitted no later than 15 days after the candidate has taken the multiple-choice test. Candidates can also confirm your referral using the links on the JoinLAXPD.com webpage
• Complete the form as early as you can, even before your future recruit applies!
• Eligibility: Current and Retired City Employees not involved in police officer hiring decisions
• Referral Incentive distribution: 50% at appointment ($1,000) and 50% at completion of LAPD Academy ($1,000)
• The Referrer must be specified and confirmed by the candidate, using the link on the JoinLAXPD.com webpage
• Any Referrers that are not stated as being the singular, individual Referrer by the candidate may not be eligible to receive the incentive.
• If a candidate confirms more than one referrer, only the first eligible referrer will receive funds.
• Candidates cannot refer themselves.
• APD Personnel involved in Backgrounds or Recruitment are not eligible to participate in the Referral Incentive Program.
