|
(Los Angeles, CA) During the holiday season, Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) is spreading joyful cheer with a variety of festive events to entertain airport guests.
"December is a very special time when families and friends come together to celebrate the winter holidays," said Barbara Yamamoto, Director of Guest Experience and Innovation, LAWA. "There's already an atmosphere of excitement for the holidays in the air, as airlines decorate the terminals and airport staff gear up for the holiday rush. With so many guests coming our way over the next few weeks, we are creating festive experiences that will energize and entertain our guests as they wait for flights or arrive in the city of Los Angeles."
LAX's Sounds of the Season performance series will kick off the winter holiday travel period, with nine musical acts and groups performing at various terminals and the LAX-it pick-up lot throughout December. The schedule includes 90-year-old Navy and World War II veteran Nick King, the Long Beach City College Caroling Group, the Guitars Antiqua Children's Music Program, the Loyola S.T.A.R. African Drum and Dance Ensemble and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Choir.
Sounds of the Season will begin performances on Monday, Dec. 16, with Genesis the Balm, which will be performing at Tom Bradley International Terminal from 7-8 p.m. A complete list of activities, including all upcoming Sounds of the Seasons performances, is below.
