Taxiway AA Closure Between Taxiway E and Gate 419
May 10, 2023 - July 25, 2023
Project Overview:
Taxiway AA between Taxiway E and Gate 419 will be closed continuously from May 10, 2023 through July 25, 2023 to construct a section of concrete pavement on the east side of Taxiway AA. This Taxiway AA pavement construction is Phase 4 of the Taxiway D Extension Project that involves extending Taxiway D from Taxiway P to Taxiway AA and the construction of a new Vehicle Service Road (VSR) D from VSR K to VSR AA.
Operational Impacts:
Taxiway AA between Taxiway E and Gate 419 will be closed from May 10, 2023 - July 25, 2023.
The Taxiway AA centerline will be modified to the west between Gate 413 and Gate 419 around the construction barricades.
West Remote Gates 415 and 417 will be down gauged to B767, B757 type aircraft or smaller due to construction limits.
West Remote Gate 419 will be down gauged to B737, A319 and A320 or smaller type aircraft and will have new gate lead in line striping for two parking spots shown as Gate 419A and 419B.
Vehicle service road (VSR) AA between VSR E and VSR E17 will be closed until July 25, 2023.
Vehicles needing to access Gates 411, 413, 415, 417 and 419 will need to use VSR E15.
Aircraft tow crews will need to push tail north on Taxiway AA after receiving pushback clearance from FAA ground control.
Drivers needing to transition between the north and south airfield will be detoured to VSR E17, to VSR AA south of the VSR AA closure or they may use VSR E to VSR P to reach the south airfield.
Vehicle Service Road Driver Safety Items:
Drivers must be vigilant and exercise caution in the vicinity.
Drivers should also be aware of the potential for increased transit times due to the VSR AA closure and traffic detours.
Notices to Air Missions (NOTAMs) have been issued for the scheduled closures. Please plan flight operations accordingly and check current NOTAMs at https://notams.aim.faa.gov/notamSearch for current airfield operating conditions.
