About

The Auxiliary Curbs project will provide enhanced and convenient vehicle access to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) as part of new transportation rotaries located along the path of the forthcoming LAX Automated People Mover. These rotaries, which are located adjacent to LAX Economy Parking and the Consolidated Rent-A-Car (ConRAC) facility, are designed to support private and commercial vehicle traffic with modernized transportation technologies (e.g., GPS, smart parking systems, traffic monitoring systems) that ease the airport journey.

At LAX Economy Parking, 6,140 linear feet (LF) of new curbs will be constructed to the east of the facility, with 3,530 LF of expanded curbs to be constructed south of it.

West of Concourse Way, adjacent to the ConRAC, the project will construct 1,200 LF of new curbs in addition to approximately 70,000 square feet (SF) of new parking space to serve an additional 173 parking stalls. This part of the project will also include an expansion of drainage systems to account for Low Impact Development (LID) storm water containment.

Construction adjacent to the ConRAC began July 2024, with construction at LAX Economy Parking expected to begin in late 2024. Project completion is anticipated in early 2026.
